Meh

Well, today was pretty much just as frustrating. Maybe it is our schedule of being a little "off." Let's go with that. Anyway, let's hope that tomorrow will be better. We began our day with M4T and Ohio Dailies. Our morning question was, "Today, I will...." We had an electronic free i-time due to testing in 5th grade which bothered some kiddos but we managed. In our meeting, we reviewed our Plus/Delta/Prescription chart that we made previously and discussed our below the line behaviors lately and what we can do to get back above the line. We played Category Challenge, said the Pledge and wrote more specific SMART goals. In Math Workshop, we practiced area and perimeter with a game-Cover the area, an Exit Slip and an application activity-garden and creating a zoo enclosure. Today was gym, lunch and outdoor recess and instead of Read Aloud, we continued our work with vocabulary and Miss Alaineous a Vocabulary Disaster. Then, we read independently and then in Reader's Workshop, we worked with identifying and understanding informational text structures by completing a matching activity and by reading two stories about Alcatraz and identifying the informational text structures. Finally, we completed our day by making imprint fossils of our handprints and did a little excavating of some "treasures" too.
