The weather is gorgeous... as I type this blog while outside enjoying it!
We began our day with M4T, Ohio Dailies and i-time where some finished excavating fossils that we began yesterday, some worked on the blogs while others read and did some other work. Students worked together to try and complete a word search for our morning question and in Math Workshop, we found area and perimeter of shapes that I made using tape on the ground. This ended up taking the entire time! So, we wrote in our planners and went to Art, lunch and enjoyed a lovely recess! After recess, we continued working on our vocabulary from Miss Alaineus: a Vocabulary Disaster. Then, we read independently, blogged or visited the library and in Reader's Workshop, read the paired text in StoryWorks about the history of television and then completed a response comparing and contrasting television over the course of the timeline, on the ipads. I am impressed at how much better their writing has become but they still ask if they need to use paragraphs! Yes! Finally, we ENDED our day with our meeting and talking about how they can prepare for the testing tomorrow and Friday: get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, bring in a small pillow or blanket, get excited to show what they know, etc.
