2 out of 4!

Sometimes the shortest weeks take the longest to complete!

Today was an ok day. We discussed in meeting trying to reward those that are staying above the line but for some reason, they didn't like that so much. They didn't feel they should be rewarded for doing what they are supposed to be doing. Although I COMPLETELY agree, I explained that we need to do something to recognize those that are staying above the line. So, we are still working on how to best KEEP our behaviors ALWAYS above the line. Our morning question was for Ticket Tuesday: If you just won tickets to your dream concert, who would you see and who would you take with you? So, in our meeting, we discussed how we made our choice for who we'd take with us. Then, we played category challenge but added some complexity by passing 2 balls around while having 2 different players. In Math Workshop, we reviewed conversions and then finished our relay race. While the relay race was challenging, they didn't fare so well... Tonight's homework is to work on some conversion problems in their green workbook. :) We had music today, lunch and due to the early morning rain, indoor recess. In The City of Ember, we learned details about Lina, her sister, Poppy, her granny and her shop and apartment. We read independently and visited the library and then in reader's Workshop, continued researching Ohio's inventors. Some were able to move forward with creating their trading cards too. Finally, we completed our day by continuing our investigation of lighting and the most efficient type of bulbs.
