Fantastico Friday!

I still do not have a voice but at least it's not as squeaky as yesterday! :) We started our Friday with our M4T assessment. After a quick meeting where students wrote on a post-it, "One thing I wish my teacher knew about me..." Our Number Talk was focused on doubles again today and then we practiced and hopefully, solidified our understanding of 10x more in Math Workshop. We had Music, lunch and recess and then in reading Fish In a Tree, Ally was voted-by her classmates-as class president!! Her mindset is taking an even bigger turn toward believing in herself! We had discussion about the characteristics of Ally and how things are changing these characteristics about her. Then, students were able to look at the main character in their StoryWorks character, Sheera. They also read independently, conferenced with me, some visited the library and some played chess, like Ally, during Reader's Workshop. In Writer's Workshop, we personalized our Writer's Notebooks! Finally, our day concluded testing our cookie theories from yesterday. I think they really enjoyed this! :)
