Fabulous day!
Today was wonderful! We began by completing our M4T assessment and then continued with showing our understanding of decimals by taking our assessment but also showing our flexible application by completing a real world task involving decimals. After a productive Math Workshop, we went to Music, lunch and a gorgeous recess. In brown girl dreaming, Jacqueline adapted her name to Jackie because her teacher asked her to write her name on the board in cursive and she didn't understand/know the q...so sad! She felt she would rather change her name than say she didn't know. It is hard to believe that this little girl that is having trouble reading and writing becomes such an amazing author! We read independently and then dove deeper into deciphering a poem and truly understanding the author's intent and message. "Victory" was about more than just a race. We then, completed building our penguin dwellings for our "Save the Penguin" science activity. Finally, we got a chance to preview the 5th grade musical, Jungle Book, as they practiced. So cool!
