Assessment Morning?
This morning began with a lot of assessments. We took our M4T assessment and then our Line Plot Post-Assessment followed by our Unit 5 Pre-Assessment. Luckily, we also had time for some free math, watched the ADE News and enjoyed our "Find the beauty Friday" morning question where we turned a doodle into a masterpiece! We had Music, lunch and indoor recess and then went down to 2nd grade, Mrs. Kleman's room, to see their research presentations. Once we returned, we found out that Officer Muller found Gerta and Fritz while they were tunneling! Instead of killing them for treason, they coerced Officer Muller into using their tunnel to take his family to the West. That was a close call! After reading independently, we watched a rap about figurative language and tried to recognize the figurative language in a couple of poems. Then, we researched in Writer's Workshop and in Social Studies, we discussed the Declaration of Independence (and why we celebrate July 4th/Independence Day...one kiddo said, "I just thought it was a day for picnics, parties and fireworks!). We found a parody video to "Too Late to Apologize" too!
